The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) doesn’t have to create ads for the midterm elections. The Democrats did it for them at President Trump’s Tuesday night (February 24, 2026) State of the Union Speech.

Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson admitted as much during an interview on national TV following the President’s speech when he said he considered asking the Sergeant at Arms to have Illan Omar (D-MN) and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) ejected for their screeching during the talk. However, the frenzied combination of the Marie Laveau and Cruella de Ville wannabes was a gift to the GOP he could not refuse.
Following the session Omar probably made a frantic call to her lawyer after Trump announced that he was appointing Vice President JD Vance to head a new government fraud group, highlighting the “…more than $19 billion Minnesota-based scams perpetuated by Somalis” in that state.
After that investigation it’s almost a sure thing that some current and former Democrat politicians from the “Star of the North” state will be joining the scammers in the slammer.
Perennial nutcase and the city of Houston’s national embarrassment, Al Green (D-TX ), was ejected before the President’s talk even began for waving a sign, his cane, and yelling incomprehensible gibberish.
Omar and Tlaib’s bellowing took place after Trump asked members of Congress to rise if they agreed that the U.S. should “protect American citizens, not illegal aliens.” Pointing to the growling, and still seated Democrats a smirking Trump said: “These people are crazy.”
Following the session Speaker Johnson said he let the ditzy Omar and Tlaib duo continue to make fools of themselves, commenting during a post TV interview that their vile disrespectful behavior would be appearing in Republican campaign ads leading up to the November midterm elections.
Johnson also criticized Democrats for the moments they chose to stand and remain seated during Trump’s remarks.
Their psychedelic idiocy and garish hypocrisy was an opportunity too good for the Speaker to pass up. The ads will write themselves.
“They stood at the wrong times, and they refused to stand when they should have. They stood and applauded themselves for voting against the Working Families Tax Cuts,” the Speaker said. “So they voted to impose the largest tax increase in history on the American people, and they clap for themselves. That video is going to be very valuable to us in the future.”
With the exception of Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman, it was apparent that Democrats have run out of issues, that they hate the United States, and are psychotic in their call for socialism and open borders.
It got even better for the GOP. Democrats that boycotted the session assembled a group dressed in frog and giraffe costumes for an incoherent countenance. Newly elected Democrat Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger drew the short straw and gave a halfhearted and exaggerated rebuttal to a crowd that needed applause prompts. Along the way she lost her place on the teleprompter.
Overall if was a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day for Democrats.
The disrespectful and vile reaction by Democrats confirmed that the speech may have been one of the most effective Trump ever delivered. The bizarre reaction by Democrats makes it clear why they favor gun control considering how often they manage to shoot themselves in the foot.
When I was growing up my mother would call my attention to newspaper items involving juvenile delinquents, reckless teen drivers, vandals, and other miscreants, warning me about hanging out with the wrong crowd. Had she witnessed the behavior of these Democrats pushing the envelope of human depravity, she would have called me into the room saying: “See what happens when you associate with the wrong circle of people.”
I don’t know if it would have been possible or not, but if so, the Republicans missed an opportunity by not putting photos of Americans who have been killed by illegal aliens in the seats of those Democrats who boycotted the speech.
Unhinged Democrats have been running amok in America since the mid-60s. Before American university campuses began celebrating Hamas terrorists, they were glorifying Communist butchers and Black Panther rapists and killers and Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) murderers. It’s what they do.
Registering as a Democrat voter is not a label I would want to wear.

Nassau County Veterans Honored: Two Nassau County residents, Ned Flemming and Merle King, were among the military veterans flown to Washington D.C. as part of First Coast Honor Flights a national nonprofit that provides all-expense paid trips to the Capital to celebrate and honor U.S. veterans.
The First Coast chapter is one of eleven hubs across the country that participates in the program. First Coast Honor Flight says its purpose is to “honor, celebrate, and preserve the legacy of America’s military veterans by providing them with a memorable, no-cost journey to Washington, D.C. to visit the national memorials dedicated to their service and sacrifice.”
Both Ned and Ms. King are Vietnam War veterans, Ned served in the Air Force.
Orlando native Fleming dropped out of the University of Florida, joined the Air Force, and spent most of his 16 months in the war zone perched on a mountain overlooking North Vietnam intercepting and translating Chinese military transmissions. The Chinese were North Vietnam’s major supplier.
When he enlisted he was told that he qualified for language school and opted to spend a year at Yale where he became fluent in Chinese. He spent the next 16 months in Vietnam.
Following his discharge Staff Sergeant Flemming attended Florida State where he earned a degree in advertising and graphic design, a career that earned him positions with the William Cook Agency in Atlanta, Charlotte and Jacksonville.
Ned and his wife Lori settled in Fernandina Beach in 2005, where he opened an art studio on South 2nd Street, that he retired from about a year ago.
Several efforts to contact Ms. King proved futile, but Ned told me she served as a helicopter mechanic in Vietnam, which distinguished her as one of the few females to do so at that time and probably earned her the admiration and gratitude of many chopper pilots.

Did You Know? The last naval battle of the Revolutionary War occurred 243 years ago next month about 200 miles South of Amelia Island off the coast of what today is Cape Canaveral. The March 10, 1783, battle lasted less than one hour with America emerging victorious. The Sons of the American Revolution annually celebrate the battle’s anniversary.
Trump’s strategy is to get into the heads of Democratic politicians and control them. He has. Think back to the 2016 Republican debates and how the then candidate melted down, one by one and on stage, his opposition. No, he wasn’t a politician but a longshot presidential candidate and a crafty businessman “buying out” the likes of Zeb, Marco, Chris among others. Trump sets the trap. It was easy to see that the dems fell into it.
President Trump’s State of the Union Speech was SPOT ON. I continue to support him & all true Americans who want the USA to continue to be a great country! GOD BLESS AMERICA & GOD BLESS DONALD J. TRUMP!!
The economy is back on track now, but many citizens don’t like President Trump because of his mouth, name calling, etc. I always go back to this scenario. If you had to have major surgery, and you have to chose between two doctors. One of the doctors is the most polite and well mannered person you have ever met, but was just an OK surgeon. The other doctor was crude and bombastic, but boy, he was a top notch surgeon. Which would you pick? OH, and we did just fine with tariffs as our primary revenue until 1913 with the income tax introduction. Give DJT time. Give the tariffs time. They will work.
As a Daughter of the American Revolution I appreciate your mention of the SAR annual celebration of the last naval battle of the Revolutionary War on March 10 south of the Amelia Island coast.
Yes, the Republicans’ 2026 (and 2028) campaign ads just write themselves! Thank you, Democrats. But Dems are so lacking in self-awareness and reading the room that they seem clueless and are apparently basing all their actions on their own failed policy biases.
Watching their actions during the SOTUS speech, I thought I was watching the Babylon Bee version.
Love the style of yours with this line! 🤣
Cruella de Ville wannabes was a gift to the GOP he could not refuse.“
Thanks Dave for a good laugh❣️💜😂
Her example of choosing a surgeon by Cynthia Ballas Morehead is the best thing I’ve heard in a long time. I still refer to Lee Iacocca’s book “Where have all the leaders gone” to find a simple answer to the question of what it takes to be a good leader. Iacocca said it takes the ten C’s… Curiosity, Character, Courage, Conviction, Charisma, Creative, Communicate, Competent, Common Sense and maybe the most important, Crisis. Whether it’s Federal, State or Local politics very few people have the ten C’s in todays world. So as a result of reading Cynthia’s example and the story about First Coast Honor Flights, I’m focusing my attention and resources towards our Veterans like Ned Fleming and Merle King, I don’t have to worry about them being great leaders, they’ve already proved it.
